Roxane Paradis

Painter

I would say that everything that makes my emotions vibrate allows me to create: a swing hanging from a tree, the city, the countryside, life events, a report, music. All this brings me infinite opportunities for creation. I sit down in front of my canvas and immerse myself in it, it transforms and surprises me. I have hours, days and sometimes months. When my canvas no longer speaks to me, I know it is finished.

My working medium is acrylic, dry pastel, collage. I prefer wood panels to canvas. I prepare them with modelling clay before painting them to allow my tiny brushes to hide tiny details on my canvas.

I would describe my style as figurative, fun, colourful. I like to transform the landscapes that surround me into funny little scenes from life.

My canvases are dotted with an infinite number of elements. You have to walk around and observe every square inch, to discover a little hidden world.
