Editor's Note
Six months ago, we set out with a simple idea: create a place where artists could be discovered, their stories shared, and meaningful connections could flourish.
Today, Art Connex U is becoming much more than a website. It is a growing community of artists, galleries, curators, and cultural organizations who believe that creativity thrives through collaboration.
This Journal reflects that journey. Every interview, exhibition, community event, and featured artist represents another step toward building a stronger and more connected arts community.
As we begin the second half of 2026, our vision remains clear: continue creating opportunities that help artists and cultural organizations grow together.
Six Months of Building Momentum
Looking back over the first half of the year, one theme connects every issue of the Journal.
Connection creates opportunity.
In March, artists gathered to meet one another, exchange ideas, and begin new relationships.
April showed how those conversations can quickly evolve into action. The Studio M gathering resulted in Small is Beautiful, a collaborative exhibition that will bring together Art Connex U artists this December.
May celebrated the importance of sharing the stories behind the artwork through artist interviews, reminding us that audiences connect just as deeply with the artist as they do with the work itself.
June expanded our vision even further by welcoming galleries, curators, artist-run centres, and cultural organizations into the Art Connex U community. Strong artistic ecosystems are built when creators and the organizations that support them work together.
Each of these moments has contributed to something larger than any individual event.
Together, they are creating a living network where artists are discovered, collaborations begin, exhibitions are promoted, and creative voices are preserved through interviews and editorial storytelling.
As we move into the second half of the year, our focus remains the same:
Create meaningful connections. Encourage artistic discovery. Build lasting visibility.

Aleksandar Markovic
This month, Art Connex U is pleased to feature Aleksandar Markovic, an artist whose thoughtful approach reflects the curiosity, discipline, and continual growth found throughout our community.
Alex discovered his passion for photography at a young age, always carrying a camera to capture the world around him. After taking a break, he recently rekindled his love for the art and now seizes every opportunity to explore it once more. Inspired by the cityscape, Alex blends urban landscapes with geometric elements, creating striking compositions that highlight the structure and rhythm of everyday life. Whether on a casual walk or an intentional shoot, he finds beauty in the lines, angles, and perspectives that shape his surroundings.
His artistic practice reminds us that creativity is never static. Every photograph, every exhibition, and every conversation becomes part of an evolving journey of exploration and expression.
Aleksandar's work reflects one of the central ideas behind Art Connex U—that artistic growth is strengthened when artists remain connected to their community while continuing to challenge themselves creatively.

Planning continues for Small is Beautiful, our December collaborative exhibition at Studio M, created exclusively for Art Connex U artists.
Expanded Membership
Art Connex U now welcomes not only artists, but also galleries, curators, artist-run centres, and cultural organizations seeking meaningful, long-term visibility.
Through editorial features, exhibition promotion, interviews, event listings, and permanent archival visibility, we're building a platform where today's artistic activity becomes tomorrow's creative record.
